Starting from a specific place, a memory or an encounter, I raise questions. Through drawings in graphite or colored pencils, sensory mapping, text, books, and sometimes performance, I attempt to answer them—or at least to open up paths toward answers. I explore the notions of ecosystems, interrelationships, cohabitation, the cycle of life, and constant transformation. All these dynamics concern the non-human but also, in some ways, become a reflection of our human society. I like to linger on those who have little or no value in the eyes of our Western capitalist society: the weeds along the sidewalk, the bark of a tree, the networks of underground fungi, a dead tree, etc. Making visible the useless, the futile, the invisible. For each project, I seek a sensitive, poetic, and playful way to tell the stories of the big web of life of which we, as humans, are also a part.
